About Me

Jeff Walker at Phi Theta Kappa induction

Hi.

My name's Jeff.

The following is a brief timeline of my life.

2010

At 14, I joined the Explorers Post 725 - Computers, a Boy Scouts Post dedicated to teaching programming and other computer skills to local youth.

2011

I wrote my first program at age 15 using Microsoft Small Basic. It was a simple conversation app between the user and computer, storing user input to variables and recalling them briefly in conversation.

2013

I cut my teeth in web development when I, at age 17, became Webmaster for the Explorers Post 725 - Computers. I overhauled the site's design and wrote it in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. I also began conducting class sessions in programming and web design.

2015

The Explorers Post 725 dissolved, and from its ashes I co-founded CompCADEMY and began my role as Assistant Program Director, Web Administrator, and Co-Instructor. I have developed and maintained CompCADEMY's website since its founding.

2017

Sidera is my brand of software products and services available to the public, and Yahtzee! is its founding project, first released in 2017. It is open source and available on GitHub.

2021

I began my professional career in software development after joining INB as a System Application Developer. I further developed my repertoire of skills, including backend development for ASP.NET web applications and SQL Server database design and management.
